I noticed that one of our national newspapers use stockphotos for news articles from a place called "Colourbox". Does anyone here have experience with them? I don't have any ambitions myself to submit photos but curious as to what they might pay.

There are a couple threads on MSG about it. Colourbox Threads but it doesn't seem too many people are familiar with. I was surprised you mentioned them because I have seen their images in use too but haven't heard much discussion about them. Then I checked where you were from and see you are from Norway as well :)

Anyhow, it seems like they have a few buyers at least. It would be interesting to know how much business they have.

Anyway, according to the "photographer agreement" they want the images exclusively. So, no site for us regular stock photographers :-/

Actually they take complete ownership. It is a tranfer of copyright.

Indeed - it's odd that their photographer agreement (which is, by the way, dreadfully written) seems to claim a transfer of copyright and that the photographer thus "cannot use" their photos, and yet their "photographer guidelines" clearly say "we do not have any exclusive agreements" and that you're free to use other sites.

where did you find this? On their webpage they say the images do NOT have to be exclusive.
