I just finished a fine game of "Hugger-Mugger" with some friends, and during gameplay, an odd word came up. "Legerdemain" meaning, slight of hand, or tricky. But I can't seem to find the root word in this case. Seeing as the word's prefix is spelled "leger" and not "ledger" as in handwriting, I can't figure it out. Reference.com told me it was
Middle-English/French, but I still can't put my finger on it.
