Holy crap! That poor kid looks scared out of her wits! I've ridden something similar years ago in the Poconos mountains. It was actually quite dangerous. By the time I got down the mountain I had seen numerous accidents involving broken bones and smashed noses. Once was enough for me and I'd never put a child on it.
That depends on the kid.
I have two daughters - one of them would have completely freaked out from such rides, the other one could never have it wild enough, right from the start.
That aside, I am amazed at the lack of safety features. In the left photo, the little one looks secure enough (although scared stiff) in mother's arms (but what if the mother should need to let go of her for a bit). The second ride looks tamer, but one quick unexpected move, and the toddler would be gone.
If this is what I think it is, it's a ski lift up a mountain. Then you ride down the mountain on a track car. The one I did in the Poconos was a lay down type (it almost looked like a superwide skateboard. This was back in the 80's. It had a little brake lever to slow yourself down, but most people went at breakneck speeds. They were really dangerous.

They had an alpine slide where I grew up in VT - it was pretty tame. It was like riding a sled down a concrete chute; you could get going pretty fast unless someone was in front of you, and there usually was someone. But they'd never have let a kid that small on it.
Yeah, we had one of those local to Ottawa too - concrete chutes with awful little banks, and a plastic sled with a lever to adust speed and braking. No belt, no padding, nothing, that was it. If you took one of the curves too fast, you flew off, landed, picked yourself up and got the sled back in the chute, and continued on.
Now, the same park has been replaced by water slides instead. Wonder how many people would believe me if I told them its original inception?
...good Lord, just looked at the pix...looks FAR more scary and dangerous than the plastic sled in a chute, that looks more like a monorail! And remember, Mommy is probably a model and getting $$$ to look like she's having a fine ol' time with the frankly terrified looking girl in front of her.
