the haloing around the petals is distracting, and it's a bit too soft for my tastes, but i like the colors

The thumbnail probably would have fooled me had you not said something! This is an interesting photograph, I like the effect. It stands out from other similar flower photos.

Here's
my try at a 3D type image.
Select the flower for a layer. Desat the background and added a blur. merged both layers.
