Here's an update from my weekend shooting trip:
The aspen at Maroon Bells are about 45% changed. Many of the aspen on the drive up to the Bells are suffering from SAD and have a generally unhealthy appearance. They haven't changed yet but very well may not.
The aspen up Castle Creek south of Aspen are in general decline as well. What a pity! I would say 90% look dull and unhealthy although again, unchanged as of yet.
The aspen on the east side of Independence Pass look terrific! They're 80-85% changed and look very healthy for the most part.
I would love to hear from anyone in the southwest part of the state...in particular the region of Ouray, Telluride and Silverton as well as Kebler Pass. Thanks! |
