Does anyone know anything about this company (based in London) Barcroft Media or the terms/conditions for "international syndication"? In other words, should I expect to be paid for this and how much (or is this a scam)?
I got an e-mail today from a representative from Barcroft Media inquiring about an image of mine for their business (selling news stories and photographs to newspapers and magazines in both Britain and abroad). She did not discuss any payment terms, but did ask that I contact her with questions (which I am also doing at the moment). I just thought it would be wise to get a heads up from any other photogs out there who might have done business with them in the past.
Yeah, and I've found some conflicting information on them, but can't determine what's legit and what's hype... Any commentary about history with this company would be greatly appreciated - or even if you've just heard something good or bad about it. Thanks!

Surely won't hurt to play it out--the legitimacy or lack thereof should become apparent rather quickly. Good luck and congrats if you get a sale out of the deal!
Thanks Mark. Cujee - yes there is and I have already been in communication with them via e-mail. The contract is for a 50/50 split of any sales, although I don't have an answer back yet on "who retains the image rights" or "what the average sale is".
I was just hoping that someone on here might have dealt with them personally already. I will go for it and see what happens (provided that I retain the image rights).
