Does anyone have an opinion on what voters will interpret as a "household appliance"? From what I can find on-line, household appliances apparently are items such as fans, heaters, vacuum cleaners, sewing machines, etc. as opposed to kitchen appliances such as toasters, ovens, coffee makers, etc. I must admit that my first thoughts were of kitchen appliances. Will voters consider any of the above items as household appliances, or apply a more narrow definition? Just trying to avoid the DNMC votes. Thoughts?
I'm not sure why they would be DNMC since they are appliances. You can never know with the voters, but I'm sure items such as stoves, washers & dryers are fine as subjects.
You guys are probably right. That was my first thoughts. Then I started wondering if non-electrical devices (tea kettles, etc) would be considered appliances. Looking on the web just brought up the different devices being categorized differently. Just over-thinking the whole thing basically. Going back to my first thoughts on the subject now. Thanks.

So really anything that fits this description and is normally found in the house should apply.

Just like I got hit for having a living thing as an usual object (yes, objects can be alive), I have a feeling that people will get hit hard if it's not electrical (or battery operated). I bet a tea-kettle wouldn't go over well with the extremely literal crowd.
What about things that usually women use in the house, but not to clean, cook or things like that, but just to do makeup, hair stuff? What do you think?

Hair dryer = appliance
mirror - not an appliance (imo) but I'm still thinking electrical appliances. Otherwise almost anything can be shoehorned as a household appliance.

So, I guess the "powered" part is required.
In rare cases, a phone would count -- but the electricity doesn't "power" the phone part in the traditional sense. A modern phone, electricity powers the special features more than the primary function.
