The heat will make you want to strangle yourself. It may seem like a really small thing but it can seriously limit what you can do in those peak sun times. I made a silly decision to take a round at the beach at around noon and not only did my pictures end up a bit hazy and washed up but so did my vision.
The sunsets in the desert are really pretty so that's a lot of fun. And the area around the souks is great for some street photography.
It's a long time since I was there, but I took a boat across the creek (at night). It's a short ride, but was fun. I didn't get chance for much sight seeing, but I did enjoy wandering around the souks.
