I guess the thing I like most about being a photographer, and especially once people start taking you seriously, is when you stumble across something really exceptional. I was in Hershey yesterday promoting our camera club, and I had this shot displayed. A woman asked me if it was a shot of the cars over in Middletown, and every alarm bell in my photographer psyche came screaming to the forefront. As casually as I could, I asked questions until I was pretty sure I knew where it was that she was talking about and made a beelines for it as soon as we packed up. I had driven by this place no fewer than a couple hundred times, but a block over, and never knew it was there over the last 35 years that I'd been familiar with the area.
Anyhow, much to my surprise and delight, there it was, right smack in the center of this little town. I spent about 45 minutes crawling around shooting, and rest assurede that I'll be back. I purposely did not hang around for too long 'cause I wanted to savor this experience, and I'm just going to risk it that this place isn't going any where!
BTW, if there are any trains junkies out there who can fill in any blanks about these various pieces of equipment, please do so!
Great find! I see some potential ribbon shots for you in that place. I've often found the same thing, that some great shots are often hiding just off the beaten path and I was unaware of them.
A few more.....this is the basically about it......I may be able to squeeze another couple out of the set if I really work at it, but I'm just going to make a point to get back to the place.....

I wonder if this place is very well shut off as it doesn't seem really trashed?
