Same image as my "Something Different II" Entry. I was curious how this would look in B&W and adjusted as a "sillouettes" entry. How do you like this compared to my original?
By the way, for those who said the water beneath the bridge was too dark in the submission, I thought about lightening it (the data is there), but wanted the emphasis to be the form of the bridge. But now I guess that's just water underneath the bridge ;) Thanks very much by the way for those who commented and to all who gave me above a 4 ;-)
I really liked this image. I'm sticking with the color for my preference. I think the b/w version lost some fine detail which added interest to me. That being said, the b/w is also cool, but I like an image with many dimensions and subtle detail.

I also like the details in your original. Not only the abstract shape of the the bridge but the rivets on the side. You may want to play around with bringing those details out and you would have a great b&w image.
I originally gave this shot an 8. It had the perfect balance of depth/darkness/detail for me. The blue is so striking against the rusts and blacks. The B & W is so striking -- but I think it loses to the first. BUT, I would love to see the B & W with less solid black taking up real estate and see what that does. That could change my mind. My very humble opinion.
I also scored the original 8 and think it looses to much detail in the b&w
maybe all it needs is more croped off the bottom to reduce the amount dark space at the bottom (or bring out some of the water detail if you don't want to much of a sillouette)
