I think I'm headed below 5 again. The average has been dropping quite rapidly! Either that, or my other challenge entry has tanked... perhaps it's both! Oh dear...
For a change, I seem to be out of the "high four score" syndrome for a while...but I'm sure not gonna hold my breath that I'll continue to stay away from there.
A few peeps just went out and thought, ooh a pigeon, that will do for the challenge but many more seem to have taken time to create a decent setting then probably waited an age for the action, there are some yummy shots in there.

That's what I thought too, since I was still at 6.3 after 50+ votes, but I'm down to 5.8 and still dropping :(
Realised yesterday I posted the edit that was less good than the one I thought it was. Im thinking of pulling it, not cos its low scoring but cos it is poop. Pigeon poop! Hmmm. How do you actually self dq?
Take heart - looks like the folks with higher votes and more comments are awake and active. I've climbed back over 6 just in the last 15 min. If it would only stay there...
eta - and of course, the very next vote is a danged 3, which knocks it back below 6. Caramba!
Well i just finished my commenting/voting i think i commented on all photos! which is a first for me, i'm well on my way to becoming a full fledged DPC addict :(
