You know, if anything is left to explore after our civilization self-destructs, aliens will be picking thru the remains. One of them will hold up a combo cellphone/Ipod and yell "The smoking gun". "I've found proof that TRS existed on this world and may have resulted in its demise." TRS Technology Re-inforced Stupidity. Once technology reaches a key tipping point it amplifies human stupidity to the point that the entire civilization falls down and is destroyed. I heard an interview with the head of the police department in Devon and Cornwall where all this happened yesterday. The gist of it was that the helicopter was returning to base after another incident and happened to be passing an area where a neighbour had made a complaint about noise, so they re-directed it slightly. The Mail decided this wasn't worth mentioning - fantastic publication...
However the guy wasn't completely convincing, when quizzed about why the felt the need to shut down birthday parties in a field involving 15 people his response was along the lines of "um, errr, in case it turned into a rave!!". Policing in this country is ridiculous sometimes, what kind of Prime Minister bans parties?
At that point only 17 had arrived, but there is a real problem in the south west coastal area with mass raves, and the guy had stuck it on face book as an all invited all night party, which is pretty much how most start off - who knows. But £800 on food and a generator doesn't sound like a party for 17 to me!

Even if it was - who cares? I really don't see who these things hurt - a farmer might have a slightly muddy field and a neighbour a sleepless night, but it's the middle of the country they aren't going to be bothering that many people.
I suppose you're right. Seeing as how you riot on a regular basis over there a football games and sometimes hundreds of people are killed I guess trying to nip something as dangerous as a Rave, with a helicopter is going to save thousands of lives over the years. LOL Don't try to outthink Darwin people. heheheheheh
Technology can really blow things out of proportion. If only Barack Obama had accepted Kim Jong Il's friend request on Facebook, there wouldn't be all this trouble with nukes and missiles.
