Hi, im new to photography, and i would really appreciate some feedback on my photos. please don't sugarcoat ANYTHING. i want to know what's good, and more importantly, what's bad.

I'm really new to the forums, so if this should be posted elsewhere, please tell me. Also, would it be acceptable if i posted more photos in the future for feedback? Something like once a month? I am in high school and can't take the school's photography classes the coming year. Thus i can't get the feedback of a teacher, and would really appreciate the feedback available here.

I like this one, though the blown out highlights on the right (from the sun just outside the frame I presume) are a problem for it. The reflections of the clouds are interesting, in the reflection, they look more like mountains.


This looks like the same scene from a slightly different perspective. It has some interesting clouds, but in spite of technically being more perfect than the first one, I don't care for it as much.


I like these sort of semi-abstract shots. I might crop this one a little closer in. eliminating some of that space on the right that does not seem to be doing much. That may just be personal preference on that suggestion, however.

It is best to post thumbnails of the specific photos you are seeking feedback on. One usually gets more response than if people have to go looking through all your photos on Flickr. I snag the thumbnails by using the Firefox web browser, with the Greasemonkey extension and the All Sizes + script.
