from the website Freelance and amateur photographers wishing to take pictures are invited to attend the scheduled pre-festival media launch free of charge on Friday, July 24 at 6:30 a.m. for the sole purpose of taking pictures from the festival grounds. No credentials are needed. All balloon ascensions are wind and weather permitting.
I'm going to try and make the media launch and possibly one of the other days, weather and job permitting.
unfortunately, that weekend is Night In Venice in Ocean City, so I'll be down there and not close enough to make an appearance. If it was this weekend, i'd probably be able to round up scottieham and check it out. have fun though!
I made it! After driving back to NJ last night from Virginia Beach and getting home at almost 10pm, I decided to get up at 4am this morning and drive 2 hours to the festival. It was quite an event, despite the near rain out and very overcast conditions. The media event started at 6:30a and it quit raining at 6:29.

Bummed im missing this, we finally got a boat (keep it in Somers Point) and Im going to OBX this weekend. Boo.
from what I heard there is another balloon festival running July 26-Aug 1st
I don't have too many details other than a quick google search turned up this link //www.balloonfestnj.com/ Not sure if I will make that one or not. After a week of driving I'm ready to get off this ride and rest for a while.
