I’m filing this under site abuse because I personally think that is what this is.
I was just looking over the prices of having someone there write my resume and I have to honesty say that I am disgusted at the amount you charge people for this service. I'm sure there are people that will pay this but I can't imagine it's many. After I recover from the heart attack I just had looking at those prices I think I will just write one myself.
Just out of curiosity, if someone doesn’t have a job and they are looking for one on Monster.com, how do you expect them to pay that amount with the economy the way it is?

I've seen people charge more, I guess it depends what you get. I've always just done my own.
I always thought it would be cool if the resume writer worked on a commission basis and got a percentage of your first full paycheck. Then they’d have a vested interest in getting you a good job quick, rather then spitting out your resume quickly so they can move on to the next one.
Prices seem on the lowish side of reasonable, to me, for professional services of this nature... I've done a few for others myself, and I've charged a bit more than that...

I just don't see how and who on earth would ever pay that. I know I would never pay you that much to right 1 MAYBE 2 pieces of paper.

NO.
I write my own and they have served me well. For someone that has trouble with resumes, that may be reasonable price for the work involved. It really depends on what kind of a job Monster's resume writers really do. If they just slap your details into a template, then fuggetaboutit.
I've spent so many years in school and working and living and learning in general. Why waste all of that experience by having a third party write about me and create, at best, second hand information?
Another point, it it is always best to have your resume tweaked with different versions for different jobs, highlighting the relevant experience. This is most effectively done yourself.
I do have to say that when in left the military, writing a resume was tough. I don't know if I have gotten better at it, or just have a better breadth of experience to put in one now. Maybe a a bit of both.

My sister in law is an accountant. She had a 3 page resume and was having trouble getting interviews. I suggested cutting it down to one page. She insisted that she had SO MUCH experience that she had to have this long resume. Guess what? When she eventually trimmed it down to a single page, she got more calls.

That flies in the face of our resumes here. Mine is a whopping 20+ pages and it's not fluff. Special filters are used to run the resumes through to grab keywords. It's all because each project needs to be added individually to the resume. Mine gets longer every year.
