I have a camera that i registered a while ago and i was curious so i was browsing to see who else has it. Well, i saw that the amount of megapixels is incorrect but the camera model is correct. Is there any way to change this? I know, i'm bored and bothered but the smallest things. But its SNOWING!WOOOOO HOOOO! :dance -oh darn, not the chat room ;-)
The canon Powershot A40 is listing the incorrect effective megapixels as 1.92. This should be 2.0, or should it. Just looking at the specs from megapixel.net it says 2.1 megapixels, or 2.0 megapixels APPROX.. Whatever, doesn't bother me! ;)

What are the dimensions of the largest photo you can take?
What camera is it, and what's the correct value? Note: we try to have the camera models reflect the effective pixels whenever possible.

what exactly does this mean?
i just posted about this in another thread, but my camera is listed as 0.3 megapixels. it's more along the lines of 1.2. i'm not sure what it would be effectively.
The array of sensors on the CCD/chip is the Total pixels (the one the dealers like to list). Some of the pixels around the outside are not used to capture the image, and the number exluded varies between cameras.
The Effective pixel count is the number of sensors actually used to capture an image. For example, my camera is listd at 2.1MP, but the largest image it captures is 1600x1200 pixels = 1.92MP effective resolution.
I should of known the effective mp was 1.92 to begin with. I was not thinking straight as my brain is fried from studying for exams!! AHHH I have no time to do anything right now.

doing a little research on mine. it cheats. everything says the camera is 1.3, but it really interpolates up to that size. (yet, i still get better pictures in its faux 1.3 mode than in 0.3)
