I've thought the same thing many times in my photo travels. I have a passion for connecting with "stories", and have met and photographed some people myself in the same place in life as this man. I'm always humbled when I spend time with them to realize how real these people are. I think sometimes we do tend to think of them as choreographed characters. But I always become keenly aware that in fact, they are real life human beings with histories, childhoods, families, memories, and pain (both physical and emotional). It makes me care for them even more. That's why I love those times when I'm able to really connect with them.
