I just checked the launch status. Seems like things are on hold while they wait for weather to clear before filling the tanks. I guess I'm on hold for now too.
unfortuantely, if I leave now, even with the hold, i am unlikely to make it............Would love to see the Shuttle Launch, but when its on the other side of the world, it makes it hard to make it.
Make sure plenty of pitures are posted.............
I hope NASA has gone over every inch of the external full tank. It worries me because it's been in the elements for 37+ Days from what I figure. Wasn't Endeavor on launch pad B when STS-125 lifted off on May 11th and hasn't it been on pad B since until they moved it to pad A? I don't recall a shuttle/external tank being exposed to the elements for that length of time before a launch. Will the foam that insulates the external tank be as stable as if had been in the hanger out of the elements?
Damn. Just arrived only to find it got scrubbed 15 minutes ago. Five hrs in the car round trip for nothing.
Sorry for your wasted trip but in a way I'm glad it was scrubbed. For some reason I didn't have a good feeling about today's launch. Due to the reasons I stated above.
