If I uploaded one photo and I want to change it for another, do I need to unsubmit that entry (and make another submission from zero), or can I just open the submission details, point to the new file and "update" my submission?

You can do the latter -- just "update" the submission details. You can do this to update your current entry, or to change to an entirely new picture.

Just re submit another file...

You only need to unsubmit if you decide to change which challenge you are entered into.
