...of the University of Wisconsin-Barron County's annual literary magazine, The Red Cedar Review. I was ecstatic to see my photo from the Desolation challenge make the cover. It may not be the most prestigious honor bestowed upon me (winning a ribbon here would be GREAT. =-p ), but it certainly made my day.
You know what I think is neat? Erin's picture, which is really good, went on to become a magazine cover without winning a ribbon here at DPC. I mean, I'm sure Erin would like a ribbon too, but it says something about the meaningfulness and meaninglessness of the voting on these challenges. It says something about just because your picture doesn't place in the top ten doesn't mean it isn't a fine picture in it's own stead. The other thing that's neat is that it was taken with a Nikon 995 -- not a fancy shmancy dSLR. (Can you tell I have dSLR envy this morning?)
Anyway, congrats Erin, way to go. Will you be framing the magazine cover for your wall?
