Well, funny you should ask because I feel they are similar in a few ways. Both take a lot of practice and I have learned from those who have done them longer than me.

If you could get a DPC member to mentor you for a day, who would you pick, and what would you want to learn?
Oh man, where to start. I actually bumped into dsidwell and his wife the other day here in Logan, UT and he wanted to go shooting with me, so that would be my realistic mentor. However, if I could choose anyone it would have to be scalvert. His style is so unique and very distinct. I have loved his work as far back as I can remember on this site, I feel he could teach me a lot. My second would be Bear_Music as he is a genius landscape photographer.

Well, can't say I was, but I secretly hoped that they would have swarmed my fellow high school choir friends at the time for a good laugh.
Is this what passes for crop circles in Utah?
Haha, never thought of that before. This was around the time I was accepted to TS (before or after I cannot recall exactly) and just thought, why not.
If several Team Suck types descended upon you for a surprise GTG, where would you take us?
Oh man, there are several places I would take you. The first would be out on the Salt Lake flats where the famous jetty is. Just look at dsidwell's portfolio. Then I would take you over to Bear Lake and take you to the Minnetonka caves and get some sweet cave shots. I would then take you into Sardine Canyon (which is part of the mountain range I shoot fairly regularly called the Wellsvilles Mountains). Then if we had time we'd go out to the Salt Flats in Western Utah near Tooele.

Where is your favorite ski resort in Utah?
Snowbird/Alta- They have some of the most amazing snow on earth (not that I've been a lot of places really) and the gondola there is amazing!
What has been the hardest thing about starting your own photography business?
Getting word of mouth out and families with dogs. Also, finding time with my real job and school has been a challenge.
What has been your favorite photoshoot to date?
DPC wise, I'd have to say the Puzzling shoot was a ton of fun, my wife was just laughing at my silly weirdness with towels and water splashing everywhere. Work-wise, I did a family that wanted their picture taken with a back-hoe, that was interesting and different, but fun.
Who takes more pictures, you or your wife?
Definitely me, my wife just does snapshots of Patrick. She helps me pose clients (I suck at that) and she scrapbooks all my pictures I take.
How old do you think Patrick will be when you buy him his first camera?
Well, seeing that he has a magnetic attraction for electronics, especially ones that I use, I'm betting by the time he starts talking.
Well, peak season for skiing is in the winter and peak time for photography is in the summer.
Skiing doesn't eat up my hard drive space.
I don't make any money skiing.
I can go right into my backyard for photography, my honorable mention was taken back there.
It's really hard to do a 360 with your camera.
