Excellent work. Two thoughts: 1. You can raise the softbox on the right and lower the one on left to get light on top of the hair. 2. A light application of Topaz Adjust would really nail Greenberg's style IMO.

Oh, I don't even own it, but Topaz Adjust and LucisArts filters both produce an HDR-ish look that will appear similar to Greenberg's work (just don't go overboard with the filter).
Loving the shot of the lad it's very close indeed to her style.
I personally don't like to see this sort of treatment on very young children I don't think their skin takes to it at all, so for me that one doesn't work.

Well, let me qualify that. Having blown highlights, as Gordon said, isn't always a bad thing, but they should be used to effect. In Greenberg's work, the blown highlights that are there are generally used to effect in order to frame and highlight the subject. In your case, here, they distract by being too much OF the subject.
Still too much of a difference between the hilites and the front of the face. If you notice her pics,do you think there is about a 1 stop difference between the sides and the front of the face? Or is it less?
I really need a patient model so I can use the light meter to balance properly.
You have majority of it right. She uses two brolly flashes on the subjects left and right along with a softbox flash just above the subject for a hair light, and she shoots through a ring flash. I have seen some videos on her where she uses some right lights on the sides but to get that really great almost super strong lighting she uses the regular flashes with umbrellas.
Yours id very close to what she has, instead of dodging and burning use paint with light instead. She does do some slight D&B but that's old school for her now. Mostly adjustments to make a darker and brighter layer then uses PWL to fade the shadows and highlights.

AH yes the PWL trick! Why didn't I think of that. Definitely much better results that D&B. I will try that on the next set of pics. Hopefully tonite I will get a chance to get it right.

You are pretty damn close, I would remove the war scars from his arm and clean up his skin. Also make his eyes a bright Orange just to see how bad ass it would look. Also try and see if you can add a fake ring light highlight in his eyes.
