I went out yesterday afternoon looking for some active birds for the current animals challenge. The Egrets and Herons were not terribly active, but I got some interesting shots of this guy casting a fishing net from a dam on the river. Problem is, the backlit net blends in with the water spray behind him. I'm trying to get the net to stand out from the background and still look natural. The only thing I can come up with is to duplicate the layer and then erase or mask through on the net after adjusting the lower layer. Anybody have a better idea, or even know a way of doing this under basic rules?
