If it is possible, I would suggest visiting the church with a "model" (I usually take a girlfriend along when doing this) prior to (days ahead if that is possible) and doing some test shooting. That would serve to give you more familiarity with the location, the lighting and the settings on your camera.
Or, find a similar location/lighting and play with your camera until you are familiar with the settings that will work best for you.
