GTG Colorado Springs, CO - DPChallenge Forums

Hey! So, I am flying back to Colorado Springs on Saturday!!! And I hear there's going to be snow! I need it because I have been having snow withdrawals in Arizona.

Anyway, I was wanting to start dialogue about scheduling a Colorado Springs GTG! Zoo, Garden of the Gods, a waterfall...doesn't matter to me, I am game for anything that doesn't really cost too much.

Would anyone be up for a GTG? If so, just list your best dates and desired places.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo GTG May 23, 2009 at 9a in front of the zoo! (if you can't make this date let me know and I will schedule a second GTG. I'm buying a membership and one son volunteers there so I am there quite often)

I would be interested! I live in Parker but would make the trip, Saturdays and Sundays usually are good for me and I am pretty open as far as dates.

OK, anyone else interested? I am thinking a Saturday at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs in the month of May. What do you think? Any best dates?

My schedule is pretty flexible for any saturday in May. I know I may have to go to a group dinner on the 23rd or the 30th but should know which weekend soon. Hopefully we see some more responses, it would be nice to get a big group.

The 23rd is shaping up to be the best day for me, but only because I will already be there to drop off my son who volunteers at the zoo. And, I hope to have my new Canon back by then.

PapaBob, let us know as soon as you know about your dinner. Can we tentatively set it for the 23rd?

There is also a plant sale going on at the zoo on that day if you are looking for garden additions. Plant sale link here You can even order on line and pick up that morning at 8a and we can all meet at 9a.

Does this sound ok to everyone? Tentatively set for the 23rd of May at 9a?

Go ahead and set it up for the 23rd, I will let the know I have plans and they can just plane around my schedule...lol.

Great! I have you added to the list in the original post of those who are coming!!!

Where is everyone else? There are 29 people in Colorado Springs on DPC and that doesn't include the people who didn't put their location down. Come on, I know it's the Zoo, but it's also meeting other DPC'ers. Anyone else game for a GTG?

woohoo!!! My new 40d arrived yesterday, and it works!!! I hope to understand all the buttons by the GTG! Guess I better get out the manual and see what this baby can do!

I am so excited to meet everyone! I am able to bring a guest in on my pass also.

I don't know if it is planning to rain or not (I only get Denver news and it's not always the same as the Springs). However, it did rain at my last zoo get together for a little while, then was a beautiful day for pictures.

One tip that was great that one of the Phoenix DPCers did was to bring a hand towel to lay over the camera. It was so much easier than continually trying to hide it under a jacket.

I will not be able to attend, I wish I could I was really looking forward to it and thought I would at least make it in the morning but it just will not work, I hope everyone has a great time and gets some killer shots.
