It clearly and explicitly violates the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of prisoners ... I believe even our government admits that. Do you really want to be an apologist for actions which even the President calls "abhorrent" and "nauseating?"

Even hazing is considered "abhorant" and "nauseating" in this age of political correctness. And Bush probably wouldn't even be apologizing if it was not for an upcoming election; I'd like to be a fly on the wall sometimes when he chats with Rumsfeld - bet it would make your skin crawl to hear how they really feel.

What happened to personal responsibility? Do people really think her actions can be excused as being in the wrong place at the wrong time or is this another case of the Menendez Brothers Whinery?
What gets me is that when nothing is on my 99 channels of cable, that the 7 news cast are bringing these photos up every hour... making it more hard to believe that this is bing done right now by Americans, people should be able to keep their fantasies to themselves, specially when there is enough crime, murders, rapist, stalkers to scare you into being thankfull for what you have!

The evolving case of the prison abuses is a far more serious issue than partisan politics or political correctness. The image of the US in the eyes of the rest of the world, especially the Middle East, has been setback decades. We must work hard to regain our claim to the "moral high ground". We must not let our nation be dragged down to the level of those we condemn as terrorists and tyrants. If we do then they have won.

No one is saying that all, or even more than a few, Americam soldiers were involved. And yes, I do think it would be an important story even if there was no election. Those are diversions.

Why don't we (used loosely) dig a big pit around the whole frikken country, fill it with burning oil so no one can escape, and carpet bomb the whole country. Have it over with, once and for all. I'd be very interested to know about these soldiers who are shown in the photos and who've been suspended. I just wonder in what kind of political environment they grew up? Where did they come up with the idea that setting up these kinds of "photo opportunities" was an okay thing to do? That's all I'm gonna say . . . draw your own conclusions . . . but keep your eyes and ears open on this.
