I see you have ribbons though, does that mean that validation hasn't always been a requirement for ribbon winners?
Or are you saying your first request during voting?

Just hope that you haven't been doing things accidentally wrong for so long because you haven't been called on it that you're suddenly shocked to find out that it has been wrong for so long! lol.
The validation for ribbon winners was not always in place. It has been a long time since I got a ribbon, so I'm not sure when that was implemented.
As soon as I got the validation notice, I read the Basic Editing rules word by word, line by line. It has been years since I read the rules. I was happy to see that I was in compliance! I just recently bought a used Canon 5D with only 5000 actuations on it. It came from a different time zone. I shot this entry about four minutes before the deadline, so I was worried that if the camera was set for a later time zone, my date stamp would be after the contest deadline!! I was happy to see that the date/time set in my camera was an hour earlier that what it really is, not an hour later!
...and I had not noticed that it was my 100th challenge. I should have done a better image for my 100th... I'm currently getting a 5.4 or so.
Lucky you. Anyway, in each contest the first 5 places have to validate their entry. Three years ago I was 4th and had to send in the original and tell them my post prossessing. I just had bought my PaintshopPro and didn't know anything about layers without pixels yet. I used a copy/paste/merge layer and got DQed for it. Only time I got this high in ranking.
i just got a message saying my free study challenge was dq'd because i didnt provide an original within 48 hours from a validation request. the challenge has been in voting for less than 24 hours and i recieved no validation request...wtf?
Don't ge the two things confused. If you got a message saying you were dq'd and you were never asked for a validation...it is the april fools joke.
If the OP got a real validation request, and it shows up on their first page in red asking for the original, it is a real request. The joke is saying it is dq'd, not requesting validation. :)
