Okay..just bought the 70-200mm Sigma lens. I have a photo where the exif says it was taken at 456mm?? What gives with that? I have the 40d so I know there is actually some difference with the crop factor, but this doesn't make sense to me. I thought it was 1.6 or something like that which makes a 200mm more like 320? I'm not a numbers person. Can someone explain in english how I got a 456mm shot?

Did you have a 1.4x tele-extender on it? Otherwise perhaps it's a problem with a third party lens and the 40D.

It's either because it's a 3rd party lense or it's just a newer lens.

Still have unknown or incorrect info lens info while using LR2 (camera RAW).

No extender, but it is an older sigma lens.
