I am expecting an advanced ruleset. The goal is for me to learn how to best PP it. I uploaded the modified full-size version (max 1024 pixels) the one that you can access from the photo page. That would be good.:-)
Ok, quick tweak of levels.
Duplicate layer shadow/highlight to recover some of the highlight detail.
Dodge and repair eyes
Blur background
Crop
Darken edges
Litle saturation boost
High pass filter
Bother - didn't know you had a high res version - well this is from the low res, you'll have to imagine how much better it would have been with the bigger file ;)
Masked the background
Selective color on greys to make it red
Dodged left side of birdy face on the Midtone "range"
Burned all over birdy on the Shadow "range"
Selected background again and did a Gaussian blur to get rid of grain
Smart Sharpen
Added Vignette via Lens correction filter
my editing was crop,levels,curve,selective highlight levels, selective shadows levels, dodge and burn, color dodge and burn,levels on the background, flatten, noise reduction, USM
looking back i mightve added a little color saturation...
