I wonder how those fanatical DNMC voters are going to accept images from the Southern Hemisphere where the monthly title is required but it does not coincide with the Northern Hemisphere seasons.
I predict more controversy and forum rants with this requirement to title your calendar shot with a month.

This is actually one of the first things that crossed my mind regarding the title/month requirement. Pretty sad that the first thing to cross my mind about the challenge wasn't what subject I would be photographing.
January brings the snow,
Makes our feet and fingers glow. snip...
Or as it was immortalised by Michael Flanders and Donald Swann in their version (referring of course, to the British weather)
A Song of the Weather
January brings the snow
Makes your feet and fingers glow
February's Ice and sleet
Freeze the toes right off your feet
Welcome March with wintry wind
Would thou wer't not so unkind
April brings the sweet spring showers
On and on for hours and hours
Farmers fear unkindly May
Frost by night and hail by day
June just rains and never stops
Thirty days and spoils the crops
In July the sun is hot
Is it shining? No, it's not
August cold, and dank, and wet
Brings more rain than any yet
Bleak September's mist and mud
Is enough to chill the blood
Then October adds a gale
Wind and slush and rain and hail
Dark November brings the fog
Should not do it to a dog
Freezing wet December then:
Bloody January again!
(January brings the snow
Makes your feet and fingers glow).
why do I get these wonderful images in my head but when it comes to making them a reality it becomes SUCH a production with Pre-production to Post-Production!!!
Sigh, I just discovered a 'prop' will not hold the weight of something that is instrumental to the scene.
Sigh, I will have to put this idea on the backburner til I can figure a way to gerryrig it to hold the weight.
While I was out taking photos for this challenge a friend mentioned to be careful with dramatic borders since calender images were usually border free, however, I didnt agree with him, and now found some proof that a border shouldn't lower the score of your entry.
