I want to thank everyone that has and continues to supported the FSM. As fun as it has been for you it has been and continues to be equally a privalige for me to administrate. With that said I wish all of you, and your families, a wonderful, healthy, prosperous, and fulfilling NEW YEAR.
I signed up, but it didn't show up on the spreadsheet. At first, I thought it was because I didn't match my user-name exactly, so I did it again and made sure the capitalization was the same, but it still didn't show up.
I just looked around and the Rules are under construction. Can someone fill me in on what this entails? I've not been around that long, but I would like to participate.

Your name will not show up on the 2009 FSM until I have verified the information. So It may not show until tomorrow everyone's username.
But here is a screen shot of everyone that has signed up today and a few from yesterday.

It is a marathon, you move up or down the scoring table with each Free Study. If you miss one, your average will suffer, so the idea is you enter the monthly Free Study each time to maintain your average and move up the table. It is not a flat out challenge, more a leisurely stroll through the year.
If you just like doing the odd Free Study, then this really won't work for you. It is a twelve month marathon. Hope that explains it better??
I'm a bit like a yoyo with this, I signed up early then signed out but will be going head to head with Bear_Music and any other lensbaby owner that cares to submit 12 LB images in the 2009 FS's
I sorry for not having the rules up as the the 2009 FSM season is about to start. There are few rules with the FSM and I will try to post them here for everyone until I get it online.
FSM RULES
1. Participation in the FSM requires that you be a member of DPChallenge.com. Since all monthly free studies are member only challenges, registered users cannot participate. This is a DPChallenge.com rule not a FSM rule.
2. Any member wishing to participate in the 2009 FSM must sign-up before midnight, December 31st, 2008 (EST). The FSM goes by DPC Server time listed at the bottom of each page at www.dpchallenge.com.
3. As a participant of the FSM each member is required to notify the FSM of an username change. Failing to do so will result in the lost of free study scores and FSM points between the time the user changed his or her username and notifying the FSM administrator by submitting a Username Change for at the FSM Site.
4. Any Free study entry disqualified by DPChallenge.com will be void at FSM resulting in a zero score and no points. The FSM will do everything possible to make sure that any disqualified entries are adjusted and also ask that other participants help us by notifying us of any disqualified entries by using the "Disqualified Notification" link at the FSM site. When reporting you will remain anonymous.
5. If a participant goes from member to registered user status during the season he or she will remain active in the FSM. However, no scores or points will be awarded until the regain member status.

Why do you want to take a break from it? Why not just submit as you can when you can and let the rest be up to the scott???

I think you can. Just visit this site and sign up.. it should be ok until midnight eastern U.S. time.. I think there are still a lil over 2 hours remaining if I am not mistaken.
