Most video editing software will let you do this. If you're on pc and don't have any aftermarket video editing software, import it into Windows Movie Maker and you can rotate it there.

I was gonna try to use Windows Movie Maker...I didn't see a option for rotating...

I used my D90 to record video....and I turned the camera up and recorded in portrait orientation. now when I download it to the PC it is sideways?
What do I use to rotate it??? I've made this mistake before....and still don't know what to do!!

Thank god it's not just me. Back in 2004 I borrowed the videocamera to take footage of my husband zooming across from one tree to the next on the canopy tree tops tour in Tsitsikamma, South Africa. Having used a regular camera for over 20 years I just instinctively turned it to portrait to get everything in. When we finished the canopy tour and I showed it to Pete he looked at me and just said, laughing, that we'd make sure we turned the TV on it's side when we watched that bit. Until then I'd not even THOUGHT about it. We had hysterics for about half an hour...
