No outtakes from me...I struggled to find something worthy of submission but I'd like to congratulate everyone who submitted to MFS on a job well done, (especially De Sousa). Also like to thank the good Doc for pushing for a second Masters Free Study and DPC of course for hosting it.
I waited until the last minute to go out to get a shot and then I didn't have much time to work on it. It's amazing how much more hazy it appears in the pictures than what it was actually like while flying over the Ten Thousand Islands.
I wanted to bump up the contrast to show how the setting sun colored the sky and reflected off the water, but I didn't want to make the scene look artificial either.
In hindsight, I think that I would have scored much higher if I had submitted my revised version instead. This was confirmed almost right away when I saw the comments of DrAchoo and Konador early in voting.
I'm very happy with my entry, but I wanted to post a few color shots of the sunrise, just to show the place off. Great location if you want to drive to the middle of nowhere.

I don't have an outtake, but for anyone who might remotely care, this is how much work I did to get my image to where I liked it and it was how I envisioned it in the first place.

I have learned a ton of different techniques here, and I worked longer and more carefully on this image than any to date.
both are exceptional Ivory! I like the B/w for how classic it looks, the color has more impact but takes on a different feel too... Model looks more porcelain
After reconsideration I think I should have entered this one..
I think I got too hung up on the green pool at the base of the large boulder and dismissed the distracting element of the white water at the bottom left corner.. Oh well hind site is 20/20..

I think you got it right with your original. the outake feels a little off balance to me...

I liked the fog but it didn't have much of a subject.
I lost my sandals in 24" of mud while returning to my car from this one so I held it back to teach it a lesson. :)
In the end I decided to stick with the green green grass of home.
