space is relative.
I was working out of my basement - 18x12 if I stood in the changing room and shot out from there, 7 foot ceiling, uneven floor, no windows. And the space was shared with framing, sales, storage, etc.
The new space, across the front left to right is 27 feet and the shooting area by the windows 13 wide (deep?) with 8' ceiling. Then straight back from teh garage door is the high key area, it's about 25 feet deep and around 12 or 13 wide too. The ceiling is still not as high as i'd like, but it's a finished ceiling unlike the basement that just had the exposed pipes and wires and such. And I do have a hailight recess built up between the joists. The concept is good but not sure how it will work out in practice. Still thinking of spinning the high key 180 degrees to put it against the garage door.
The sales room is moving to the new building but framing and such will stay in the basement.
