the soft focus doesn`t really suit the subject matter..

Nice work. The only problem I have is even though it is a band the guitars seem out of place in the second shot. Maybe the guitars are best saved for a studio shot.

Naaa, how else is the guitarist on the right going to be able to flip everybody off?

I took those shots with and without instruments. So there are other versions without the guitars.

As far as not matching the subject matter- I'm going to have to think on that because I like the added effect. And they liked it as well. I offered both versions. In fact they mentioned using the first one on there next cd cover and naming it using West Oak. I know that doesn't make it a great shot but it did go over well.

That does make it a great shot...

I agree. It's a wedding photo affect. So for a band with attitude it seems misplaced, moreso in the bright daylight. If it were a nightime (or darker) shot the affect would add some mystery.
