I don't have an example but I would love to see an above angle shot looking down on a circle of hands but perhaps doing an every other hand type of circle. (Meaning grandma's hand then grandchild's hand than grandma's other hand) So all eight hands are in the middle but overlapping like the generations. Might not be what you end up with, but I think it could make a really cool shot and since you probably want to do several poses it won't hurt to try.
I saw a gorgeous shot, only 4 hands though not the 8.
they where laid one on top of the other with the smallest at the top, so point one straight, the next at an angle across the hand and then the small one on top. It was lovely.
