This time tomorrow night, I will have finished shooting the divisional championship games for our local little league football teams (all three "levels" of teams are undefeated so far -- if they win, they go to the regions "superbowl" next week). I usually shoot close to a 1000 pictures (4 games), so surely to goodness I will have *something* to post.
Well I posted the thread early as I am leaving at 9am in the am to shoot a gasp* wedding, in likely one of the smallest churches still actually being used, with likely the largest crowd of people ever invited for one. Going to be a stressful day. I'll have some sports next week.
This was an interesting game to shoot. My university's team was all white girls and we have white uniforms...the other college had all black girls and black uniforms. What a coincidence.
Anyways, my goal was to get 5 usable shots, and I did (barely), but I'm only gonna post three.

I was at f/4 and ISO1600 but I could still only get down to 1/400 without getting blurriness. Gah. I stayed at 75mm for most of the time, so I'm thinking the 85mm f/1.8 is a great investment to make.
MattO, good luck with the wedding!! Definitely show us some pictures, and don't get too stressed!
ok techinically not taken this month, these were from oct 29th, but this is all your all gonna get for a week(im gonna be in D.C., not sports are gonna be availiable to me. unless we are counting political stuff as a sport:)

I guess sport photography does not carry a big interest here on DPC. It's a shame really ..this type of photography you are at the mercy of where you can set up, shoot, deal with various lighting and lots of other factors making this type of photography a pretty darn good challenge.

I'm finally going to get back to shooting tonight. Between my wedding I'm still working on and a little bit of vacation I'm pretty busy. Football playoffs start tonight though! Keep posting!
