With basic editing am I aloud to use (in IPhoto) the "enhance" edit. When I scroll over it it says that it enhances colors automatically. I would LOVE to do this for an entry but I don't want to be punished for it later!

I think if it enhances the whole photo without "picking out" certian parts, it is ok.

For example: if you just enhance a "tree" and not the rest of the photo then it is not allowed.

O.k. Well I think I have a photo I want to post for upside down and enhance is all I need to make it what I want! I read the basic editing thing like 4 times and I think its o.k. but I just want a 100% sure answer, you know what I mean??

I would think that it would be fine because it's similar to taking it into Photoshop or other editing programs and enhancing the colour, contrast, levels, saturation etc.. The only difference is, you are doing it "in camera". My understanding in basic editing is that as long as it's an adjustment done to the entire shot, with no "spot editing", it's fine. Certainly, your camera is not going to spot edit.

iPhoto is a Mac editing and sorting program that comes with the iLife 08 package with Mac computers.
I would not know what to say about the enhance edit. I have that option, but never have used because I greatly favor tweaking things using the more custom settings in the "adjust" panel there.
Definitely do not use the "effects" panel there for vignette or edge blur in basic editing.
You can submit a ticket to S C about your question, and maybe you will get an answer in time.
