I dont think it would take that long, the winters around here if it hits -30C with a good wind you can actually get frost bite on exposed flesh in a matter of a few seconds...

Nothing a stiff upper lip and a flask of hot tea wouldn't solve..
I was this close to going on a photography expedition to Antarctica a few years back--pricey once-in-a-lifetime sorta trip (about 10-15K before you buy your gear). It would have emptied my savings account, so I opted to wait a year or so. That was ten frakkin years ago.... Still waiting.
