I humbly ask that the DPCO stuff be placed in its own forum/thread and hide able. I do not participate and seeing all of those threads constantly is not site friendly for me. With each team having their own post I can see them taking over the front page of new forum posts and it does not do anything for me. I would like the option of being able to hide all the threads pertaining to this.
I think you can use the pull down menu to say ignore. Of course there are 16 teams (thus 16 threads) so that may not be as convienant as what you are asking for.
Its like a game of whack-a-mole. Even today I had a few more pop up. :P Just ignore them, easiest way to get them all is to open the side challenges forum and open them all in tabs and go through and ignore them. Not ideal for what you want, but an easy enough solution.
Under your preferences, there is a forum filter in which you can choose which sections show up and which ones don't. Turn off the "Side Challenges" forum, and you're done.

Maybe separate "side challenges" and "tournaments" into 2 separate forums? Many folks enjoy the side challenges, but would like to be able to turn off the tournament areas and vice versa.

I gotta say in all my years of using the internet I've not seen a site like this where it's members constantly request threads to be ignored/hidden. It's a good thing I am not running things because my solution to this would be exploratory surgery. I'd get to the bottom of why some people just can't ignore things that don't interest them or why they just can't go to this page to find the things that do interest them.
And interestingly enough, there is only one currently on the front page...excluding THIS one of course. Which ironically I read because I thought it was related to the DPCOIII. Now THAT'S bothersome!

The part I bolded holds true for everyone does it not? If you don't like the suggestion, then you can ignore it. (especially if it's one that doesn't have any active effect on anything or anyone.)
I want threads that I put on ignore, to come off the community page. Thats the page I use and unless I ignore the entire section I cant do it. That should be easy to impliment huh?

I was offering a simple temporary solution to your problem. The website doesn't get re-written the instant an idea is suggested.
Another thing to do is to make sure you're showing the maximum number of threads on the front page, so your list doesn't get gobbled up with stuff you don't want to see, but don't want to whack-a-mole.

Well, I wasn't entirely responding to you *specifically*. :)
I think that had all the time spent wrangling here been spent on setting up the threads, that a reasonably eye/hand coordinated person of average intelligence could have gone through and inspected every thread on site, and setup their watch and ignore lists several times over.
Is there nothing so mundane that DPC folk won't debate it to death and launch personal attacks along the way?
I'm in the Olympics this round, and if they want to move it to its own section to make it easier for those who could care less to ignore, what's the big deal? Exactly how does it hurt anyone elses DPC experience to have all the threads in their own section?
DPCO is as it a appears a large part of this website. Several people are participating in it but not all users. As I can see from the thread others also desire to ignore it.
My suggestion is to take it to a single place where people who want to be part of it can, the rest of us can click a box and ignore the whole thing. Without playing whack-a-mole, or ignoring other threads we may have interest in.
It is a lot easier to create a forum like this for one person, than it is for 50 people to individually ignore each thread, and each new thread that is started.
I am suggesting something I believe to be mutually beneficial To not only those of us who wish to ignore the event, but also for those participating. Giving them a specific home for their threads and such.
I really do not understand why it is such a big deal this suggestion.

This is ridiculous, these threads keep popping up and keep making my life difficult on this site.
Creating its own forum like the RANT forum so individual members can hide this topic is a great and easy solution. I believe it would make life easier for participants and nonparticipants alike.
I think adding yet another forum section is a bit much. How many different forum sections do we need? At some point, it's counterproductive. I agree, though, that the DPCO threads seem to breed like rabbits and clog up my front page.
Maybe there's a better way: How about the ability to ignore a thread without opening it? This would apply to each thread in all sections. That way, you can keep looking at the B&W side challenge (for example), but you can ignore a SP side challenge without going through the trouble of opening the page, ignoring it, having it reload, and then clicking out of it (there are still a few people on dial up or otherwise slow connections).
I don't have a preference how to do it. Maybe a small drop down menu of some sort on the front page or a check box on the "community" list linked at the bottom of every page.
