If it's a setting you choose before you press the shutter button, yes. Otherwise, no.

Wouldn't a "null" image represent another "capture in-camera" which is used to precess the original? I can't actually remember exactly how it works in the 1DMKII.
The editing rules cover POST processing. Whatever settings you make before you press the button are fair game.
So, anything that involves only one shutter press is acceptable, right? The dark frame applied when High ISO or Long Exposure NR is enabled doesn't count as a second image.
