I was wondering if anyone could share some tips on photographing cars (in the case just one) to create an impressive and powerful feel.
My friend loves his car and asked me to take a few shots to make it look, "awesome and big."
He's getting here in about an hour and I have a few ideas but would really like some extra help. The weather this evening is sunny with patchy cloud and intermittent rain.
polarizer is all I can offer but some reflection adds to some cars, the little auto shooting I've done I usually try and adjust the polarizing filter to fix the windows not the car (since it's near impossible to do both at once, unless you shoot one then adjust and shoot the other and merge them).
Have you searched the photo archives for auto pictures, I bet there are some great ideas.
Never shot a car but maybe hang a white sheet up between the sun & car.... give some nice light and cut down in harsh light hitting bits of the car and not others.

The larger and softer the light source on cars, the more curvy and sleek it makes it. The white sheet is a good idea. If you have any large softboxes, those are great too.
It will get dark later on and then I can use a couple of flash funs indirectly (through a sheet or reflected..?) on a longish exposure to get a smoother tone
