What may have happened to the “Two Ladies” image by De Sousa. The picture is gone from challenge results, the photographer’s page, from favorites and from comments page???
The challenge summary says there was one DQ - but it doesn't show it at the back of the challenge - it dissapeared early this morning about 2 hours after roll-over.
Presumably a Self-DQ - but it would seem a bit odd post challenge ?
If it was a "self-DQ" -- not a rules violation but removed at the photographer's request -- then it is not displayed at the end of the challenge results. I don't know about this particular case, but that's the most likely explanation.
Because I can't remember every particular situation or photo? Because part of the reason for a self-DQ is that the photographer does not want the photo viewed and discussed here,and I choose to not share further details with those who don't need to know them?
If there is a photo which does not appear in the challenge results, it was removed at the photographer's request, under self-DQ guidelines included within the challenge rules. Those rules do not require any justification or explanation to the membership of the reason(s) for the removal, other than the assurance that it was not for an editing rules violation.
I suggest you all let the photo R.I.P., as the photographer has requested ...

I was not offended by or responding to the joke part -- I was just trying to answer the legitmate questions of the first part, in more detail than the first time, since my initial explanation was obviously not satisfactory.

I don't think so. Why would he get to hide it, unlike anyone else who gets DQ'd for that reason?
I believe anyone can request a self-DQ if they realise they've screwed up.
Say I managed to crash and lose my originals shortly before rollover. I request a DQ but it isn't processed until after, when my shot sits in 5th (like THAT would ever happen... the 5th place, I mean).
Not sayin' this is what probably happened, but it's one scenario, and not at all ominous or reeking of conspiracy :)

my last months free study was dq'd or self dq'd, and it is completly gone. I actually don't know who dq'd it, I asked for a self, and I also violated rules, naughty me!
