I recently received a request from someone who wants me to re-evaluate my vote on a current challenge. How do I access that photgraph directly? I haven't finished voting on all of the photographs, so I am not receiving the screen that gives me the details of my voting history.
As a sidebar discusion, I perceive that the DPC rules strictly prohibit any atempt to influence the outcome of a current challenge. Is this person pushing the limit?
It's uncool for people to Harrass you to change your vote. However, if you feel you need to change it, the photos you voted on are at the end of the list, in the order of how you scored them

It may be somewhat "uncool," but there aren't rules that prohibit this kind of thing. Otherwise, we'd simply make it impossible for people to contact you during the voting process.
It's a fairly common practice for people to justify various aspects of their photos to people who comment on their shots. It's certainly up to you whether you feel like upping (or lowering) someone's score after hearing from them.
I usually politely ask them to PM me after the challenge is over so that I can give them a much more detailed description of my vote. I also point out that I don't know which photo is theirs, and I ask them not to tell me about it either!
Many here do not like PMing during voting. While I have sent 2 PM's DURING voting, 1ce to answer a question to what something was & 1ce as a gut reaction to a comment that struck me the wrong way since it was a personal type photo(all worked out well) Make that 3...I then PM'd an apology for the 1st PM...lol
I would never ask anyone to re-evaluate & possiblly change their vote. You think what you think when you see it & you vote.
That aside, all the images you voted on go to the end of the page list, in numerical order as you have voted them, high to low. If you go to "Challenges" > "Cast Vote" > "Challenge title" on the top navigation buttons, you get a page of thumbnails. The first pages are the ones you have yet to vote on. Just click through the pages till you find it.
You can also go in & out of the voting pages at any time. You do not have to vote straight through all of them at 1ce.
I will sometimes thank a commenter for a particularly insightful or helpful comment during a challenge. I usually don't divulge which photo is mine, though.
Being new to the site (and photography), I have voted on one challenge (Out of Place) and found several photos I would have left at a lower score than final if I had not taken the time to make a second pass through the photos. The second pass was to make certain the vote I gave considered all aspects of the photo. There were several I changed the vote on, some because I noticed something in the photo I did not before and some because it was not following what it followed before. While I would like to say I was able to dismiss the previous photos completely before viewing each new image, that simply did not happen.
While I think a photo should stand on its own without explaination, asking for a re-evaluation may not be completely out of line as not everyone goes back through each photo or even votes on each one. I do not particularly like anonymous comments (even during the voting) since the reputation and knowledge of the commenter makes a difference. However, a button could be added allowing the owner of the photo to send a generic polite request to re-evaluate the photo, with a link to that photo, without allowing comments. This, along with not allowing PMing the commenters would take care of this I think.
As for the value of the votes being private, I would say that each person has a different value they look at as being the boundary between good and bad. Since this value is different, showing the value of the votes is only going to cause upsets. That they voted with the same boundary point on each photo they voted on evens the playing field. If the voter wants their vote to be known, they will add it in their commnents.
