You've got all of September to do it, but get out there and capture 10 headshots/portraits. Studio, street, self-portrait - your choice. Just get 10 of them and you've got all month to go about it.
Any interest? I like the side challenges but have yet to be able to finish one, so thought this might work out better.
Odds are good that I can do this side challenge. I learned a lot from Timfy when I met him at Allegheny State Park and I have been playing with the settings he taught me. I'd like to be in this one for sure.
Oh I will put my name down - I'm SO out of it, but just got the Canon 85 1.8 for my birthday and it's BEAUTIFUL with portraits - might hunt down my friends and get them to let me shoot them!
I never finish side challenges either. This one sounds fun because I'd like to get better at something like this. Count me in.
aha, I know you from another side challenge. I'm having trouble posting in the SP one too. I guess one month is too long for me.
I'm about to do some portraits with some real models I met and my son's gf wants to pose as well so count me in for 10 headshots. I like this format. 31 shots of the same thing can get tedious I find.
I think I can do this if the list of players does not get so big that it takes me all of every night to look through the images and make comments. The comments take a lot more time than the actual shooting and posting. I recently got an 85- 1.8 too, and it is a great lens for people shooting.

Well, you can count me in. I'll tell you what, if my head shots turn out so bleh that you can't think of anything to say, it's nobody's fault but my own.
Johnna, (TC) The 85mm f1.8 that I have is an early 70's model Nikkor HC. A friend who works on lenses sold to me for $175. It's awesome to use, both in low light, and full sunlight. It's sharper than the sensor in my Fuji S3 at f4 through f11. It was not pricey, it's just good ol' stuff.
I look forward to this side challenge, as I shoot very few people pics normally, and it will be a good exercise for me. All of my shots will be existing light, or maybe with a little fill flash.

I totally agree. Stopping at a certain amount of people would be a good idea.
