Okay, here's my original idea, and I don't want anyone copying this novel idea:
"I see somebody standing in front of a chalkboard full of complicated looking algebra."
Before you fill that chalkboard with "complicated looking algebra" make sure it's something substantial -- or at least correct! I see a lot of bad math going up just for the visual, and I suspect I won't be the only one put off by it. I'll be grading -- er, I mean, voting in this one.
Math is not my strong suit, but there are some alternate numbering systems involved with computers and networks. I have (what I think is) a good idea for this one. I like it when I come up with my idea early in the week, so I have time to work out the details. It'll be another opportunity to work on improving my lighting skills.
Oh, great. I have way too many 'good' ideas for this challenge, which seems to be a bad sign for me. I get attached to an idea, then when I don't have the skill to execute it I can't drop it (and submit anyway). My 'morning' result started with a 4!

There is a HUGE amount of math put into most everything around you.
Just ask a someone in the following professions:
Math teacher, Engineer, All Sciences, All Medical, Demographics (Presidential polls), Any professions/businesses that involved $$-Money (Finance/Stocks/Sales/Accounting).
Counting, calculating, accumulating, predicting.Don't count your chickens before they hatch. A penny saved is a penny not well invested. Your DPC averages are calculated mathematically, by microscopic "Calculating machines". Post-processing Pixels and calculation exposures.
It was started by the cave-men, and has continued since.
The world would barely exist without Mathematics.

I agree with you on that, but Mathematics was derived mostly from physics. Newton practically invented calculus with his physics equations.
