I just moved to a new area and was out looking for places to shoot. I made it to one of the state parks and saw some wonderful scenery. Right when I got there I saw a professional photographer taking senior portraits....I knew this location would work. Then I saw this couple having their picture taken...they then went off and changed clothes...then had their picture taken again....then went off....So, I asked the lady taking their picture if she was related to that couple and she said that she was. We got to talking and found out that these were their engagement pictures being taken. Mind you, I didn't have my camera out yet and we were just talking. One of the things she said was that she has always taken her kids senior pictures and engagement photos b/c she had so many and couldn't afford it. Still didn't have my camera out and I was dressed basically like a college student.
The couple came back down and I offered to take their pictures for free. I told them I was not a professional photographer but I like to think I do good work. They gladly accepted and said that they were still looking for a photog for their wedding in December. After it was all said and done, they asked if I would be interested in taking photos for their wedding (paid). I told them that I didn't know if I was ready for that, but if they contacted me then I would consider it.

I had no intent of taking any photos while I was there, and definately no portraits....the time of day was around 11am....would have liked it to be late evening, then the lighting would have been better. Any comments are appreciated! |
