The upgrade will be happening tomorrow morning around 8:00 AM EST. The site may suffer downtime anywhere from 1 to 6 hours. When the site returns, please let us know of any issues you see.
This upgrade also includes changes to DNS. Depending on your ISP, you may have difficulty using "www.dpchallenge.com" and "www.dpcprints.com". The new sites will be accessible by IP address (I will post the IP when we're ready to go). Our plan is to redirect the old site to the new site using this IP address, so you shouldn't have too many issues.
If you tell me where to get a "systems upgrade" hat in NYC at short notice, I shall definitely wear it on camera while jiggling the new known-good servers tomorrow morning.
I just found the way into DPC database with the old IP and DNS... I was going to change all my entries and give myself ribbons for all.. Now I have to try cracking the new DB... dang... more work.. I gave up :(
There are no cosmetic or functional changes associated with this downtime.
so why even bother to tell us what's going on? Site goes offline for 1 to 6 hours, it comes back, people start new thread about it, new conspiracies... and forgotten after 5th day...

OH NO!!! What are we all going to do??? Up to six hours without being able to see scores updating!!! No heated forum topic to get all worked up about!!! What about the people at work...did you think about the people at work...they might have to actually do some work!!! Life will just stop...I guess I could take some pictures. But that will just throw my whole schedule off. LOL ;)
Thanks for the heads up Langdon, hope all goes smooth for you. And thanks for all you do for DPC it's the best and so are you. Scott
So my goal for tomorrow is to PM every DPC user during the downtime to start ugly rumors about why DPC was banned from the internet forever. :D
Banned for the same reason the GTG'ers are banned from Calgary.... 'nuff said...
hey hey, whats wrong with Calgary? :P
Other than speeding tickets? :) Well, I hear that certain members left the city reeling with their adventures, but maybe that's just more baseless gossip... NAHHHH!
Here is an improvement. Reply time per thread so people could read it before answer to it... For example, if i reply to a thread, that thread has to stay on hold around 1 minute before next reply posted... mean time, people read and realize that it was said way before, and save time and space to reply the same over and over again LOL

Hey Art... I have a little surprise for you with the hat. If you receive it tomorrow, you might be changing sides LOL... or just burn things more by anger LOL
