alot has been cropped off... this is a so called 100% crop (hope I said that correctly) I shot this in 2048x1360 image size, seems my camera does better or is sharper at this image size than te full size, but I can go re shoot him real quick since its all set up still
I'm not sure what I think of a dead fly. Good close up shot on him but the lighting is really bad and he is dead. Was this just a test shot, because if it was, then you did good.

yea basically im "testing" since i dont have any good lighting at this time, was hand holding my external flash with one hand and clicking the camera remote with the other hand. I just dont have enough room at my girlfriends place to really set up some much brighter lights.
plus dead bugs are much easier to photo, and since a spider killed it (yes im animal and bug friendly so I wont hurt em just for a photo) I thought i would give it a try.
If you find a nice live insect/bug you want to keep alive, put it in a jar, and place it in the frig. for an hour or so. Then place them on where you want for the shoot, they'll hang on until they get warm and start moving around again. So you have around 15 minutes or more to shoot them, depending on how warm it is. Many professionals use this technique on butterflies/dragonflies, they have one and place it out just as the dew is forming. Presto a selling shot. Van
