If there were a February Free Study challenge, I would have submitted one of these, the problem is that all were made in February, so I put them in my Portfolio and submitted something different I have made in March.
These are the two that I had thought about submitting, but figured nobody would like them, so I shot something else and pulled both (which does look to have been a great idea, either).

Of the 2 I like the second better, but still would have somehow tried to get some light on the front/face. I think a direct flash would be way too much.. perhaps a soft-box.. just a small amount of very soft light to bring out the face just a tad.
I'm a failure... Guess it is a good thing I didn't enter the challenge.
My intention with that image was to capture the feeling of dread and foreboding that you get from thinking about a prison. But if it works for a computer game then at least that is something. :)

It has a surreal feel about it is what I meant. No doubt it is heavily processed. The sky and the walls have so much contrast compared to the original, which adds to the "other worldly" effect. I like it but to me it borders on digital art. I think some people would have scored you really low for that reason. That's not to say I would. :)

This is the reason I did not submit it. I liked the picture but agree it is too much like digital art for a DPC fit. I'm not saying that as a complaint.
